Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS®)

CRPS® is the professional designation awarded by the College for Financial Planning to individuals who specialize in creating, implementing and maintaining retirement plans for businesses. Earning this designation ensures that VFA advisors will help you design, install and administer a retirement plan that best addresses the goals of your business. CRPS® certification covers all defined contribution and defined benefits retirement plans including but not limited to SIMPLE IRAs, SEPs, 401(k), 403(b), profit sharing, and defined benefit/cash balance plans.

To be entitled to use this designation, VFA Advisors have successfully completed this specialized program and passed a rigorous examination, signed a code of professional ethics, and completed a disclosure form attesting to their professional conduct. VFA Advisors must commit to earning continuing education credits to ensure their CRPS® designation is maintained.

Business owners, working with a CRPS® ensures you are getting knowledgeable advice to determine the most appropriate employer sponsored retirement plan for your business. Once the type of plan is chosen, VFA advisors will work with you to determine a plan design that will meet your objectives. Through regularly scheduled ongoing monitoring, VFA advisors will make sure your plan is meeting your stated objectives.

Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®)

An Accredited Investment Fiduciary is an individual who understands what it means to act as an investment fiduciary and as such is legally required to act in your best interest. Awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, the AIF® designation demonstrates that we are focused on all the components of comprehensive investment processes, related fiduciary standards of care, and a commitment to excellence. Having designed and implemented AIF® prudent processes for many clients enables us to assist you in implementing proper policies and procedures for your employer sponsored retirement plan.

To earn this designation, advisors are required to complete the AIF training program followed by successfully passing the certification examination. Advisors must meet specific experience requirements and attest to Conduct Standards and the AIF® Code of Ethics. To maintain this designation, annual continuing education requirements need to be achieved.

Business owners working with an AIF® advisor assures you that your advisor is working in your best interest to ensure you are using prudent processes regarding your employer sponsored retirement plan. Through the establishment of VFA’s best practices your advisor ensures your plan is following the appropriate processes.
